This calculator uses the FIDE ELO rating calculation method. Enter your current rating, your opponent's rating, and the game result to see your expected score and calculated rating change. The official rating is finalised once tournament results are processed and published on the FIDE rating list.

Per giocatori senza ELO

For players without a FIDE rating, the tool uses games played against rated opponents, opponent ratings, and the total score achieved to provide a preliminary calculation of a possible initial rating. The official first rating is determined after FIDE's valid game and publication conditions are met.

Come funziona il rating ELO

Punteggio atteso:

E = 1 / (1 + 10^((Rb - Ra) / 400))

Nuovo rating:

R'a = Ra + K × (S - E)

The K factor determines the maximum rating change per game. In FIDE, K=40 applies to new players (under 30 games) and players under 18 with a rating below 2300. K=20 applies to players rated below 2400, and K=10 to players rated 2400 and above.
