About This Calculator

This tool provides a simplified preliminary calculation for DWZ changes. The official DWZ system may take into account age, game history, development coefficient, and other evaluation parameters. As a result, the value shown in this tool may differ from the official DWZ record.

For Players Without DWZ

For players without a DWZ value, the tool can show a starting performance based on results against rated opponents. The official first DWZ value is determined according to the German Chess Federation's applicable calculation and publication conditions.

How DWZ Works

Expected Score:

E = 1 / (1 + 10^((Rb - Ra) / 400))

New Rating:

R'a = Ra + K × (S - E)

Simplified development coefficients used in this tool: E=30 for new players, E=15 for experienced players rated 2400 and above. The official DWZ system calculates dynamic coefficients based on game history and age.
